A mashup of two great dishes – pizza and chicken tikka masala! I used the Trader Joe’s refrigerated pizza dough, but feel free to use homemade dough as well.

Instructions

Marinade

  • In a large bowl, mix together yogurt, spices, and lemon juice. Add cut chicken pieces and combine well. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour or overnight.

Sauce

  • Meanwhile, in a large skillet or sauté pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic, ginger, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes stirring often.
  • Pour in tomato sauce and add garam masala, paprika, and salt. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn off heat and stir in heavy cream.

Chicken

  • While the sauce simmers, cook the chicken. Preheat broiler and place a wire rack on a baking sheet. Place chicken pieces on top of the rack and broil for about 8 minutes.

Pizza

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Stretch the refrigerated pizza dough onto a baking sheet. Spread on the prepared sauce. Top evenly with grated cheese. Arrange the chicken pieces, sliced onion, and cilantro on top of the pizza. Drizzle some additional sauce over the top of everything if desired.
  • Bake for 10 minutes or until the crust is golden. After cooling for a few minutes, remove the pizza from the pan and cut into slices.

This was so good thanks! I used the pizza dough from Whole Foods. I had to cook a little longer than your recommended 10 minutes cooking time. But oh yeah soooo good and I totally recommend making extra tikka sauce to dip the pizza in.
