This Creamy Mushroom Pasta is decadent and the perfect thing to whip up when you're craving a big bowl of creamy pasta. It comes together in 30 minutes and requires minimal prep or cleanup.

Have you ever tried cooking mushrooms in a dry pan? I recommend trying it! Cooking the mushrooms in a dry pan with no oil or seasoning allows the mushrooms to release their moisture and then get nice and browned. After the mushrooms are browned, you can add oil and seasoning for extra flavorful mushrooms.

Creamy Mushroom Pasta Ingredients

Recipe Instructions

  1. Cook pasta to al dente according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. Meanwhile, add the mushrooms in an even layer to a dry pan over medium-high heat. After about 5 minutes, the mushrooms will star to release moisture. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the mushrooms are browned and have released most of their moisture. Adjust the heat as needed so the mushrooms become browned, but don't become too dry or burnt.
  3. Lower the heat to medium. Add olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the white wine, stir to combine, and simmer for 2 minutes. Then add the dijon mustard and butter. Stir to combine and simmer for another minute.
  5. Lower the heat to medium-low. Pour in the heavy cream and add the parmesan cheese. Stir until well combined and simmer for 3 minutes.
  6. Transfer over the cooked pasta and toss together with the sauce. Add splashes of pasta water as needed if the sauce is too thick. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve immediately. Divide among bowls and serve with fresh parsley and parmesan cheese as desired.

Ingredients like baby bella mushroom, garlic, white wine, cream, and butter (not so) surprisingly pair together in the most delicious way! The creamy mushroom sauce is tossed with the pasta of your choice, but I highly recommend Mafaldine (that's what I used).
