This is a one pan recipe that is both nourishing and delicious. I used my favorite Trader Joe’s Argentinian Shrimp and seasoned them with the Lemon & Garlic Flavorgod Seasoning Blend. This seasoning blend works really with this dish, but I think some lemon pepper seasoning with a little garlic powder and salt would also be great!

I truly think the element that put this dish over the top was drizzling the Graza “sizzle” olive oil on each portion before digging in! If you haven’t tried this olive oil yet, then I HIGHLY recommend. It’s delicious and so fun to use the squeeze bottle! If you order their “Drizzle” and “Sizzle” combo pack using my link then you’ll receive $5 off your first order!

I enjoyed this One Pan Couscous with Shrimp and White Beans with a simple arugula salad – arugula, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt & pepper.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Shrimp, raw, peeled, and deveined
  • 1 to 2 teaspoon Flavorgod Lemon & Garlic Seasoning, see note below for substitutes
  • 2 tablespoon Butter, divided
  • 1/2 small Yellow Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup White Wine, dry
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes, optional; more or less to taste
  • 1 cup Pearl Couscous, Uncooked
  • 15 oz White Beans, drained and rinsed; I used a can of Trader Joe's Great Northern Beans
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth, I used water mixed with reduce sodium better than bouillon roasted chicken base
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard, I used Trader Joe's whole grain Dijon mustard
  • Kosher Salt & Black Pepper, to taste
  • 1 Lemon, additional to serve
  • Fresh Basil or Parsley , to serve
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil, I highly recommend finishing with the Graza "drizzle" olive oil!

Instructions

  • Pat shrimp dry. Season generously with the Flavorgod Lemon & Garlic seasoning or the seasoning blend of your choice.
  • Melt 1 tbsp of butter in a large high-rimmed sauté pan over medium-high heat. When the butter starts to foam, add the seasoned shrimp in an even layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes a side then remove to a plate.
  • Turn the heat to medium. In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tbsp of butter. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally. About midway through cooking the onions, pour in the white wine to deglaze the pan and scrape the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon to get up any stuck bits. Cook for about 5 minutes in total.
  • Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and cook for a minute. Add the uncooked pearl couscous, stir to combine, and toast for a minute.
  • Add the drained and rinsed white beans, chicken broth, and mustard. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, lower the heat and simmer for about 8-10 minutes or until the couscous is cooked through, stirring occasionally so the couscous doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan. Add additional water or chicken broth as needed if the liquid is absorbing too quickly.
  • Once the couscous is cooked, add back the shrimp. Stir to combine. Squeeze on the juice of 1/2 a lemon or more to taste.
  • Serve immediately with additional lemon juice, fresh basil/parsley, and a drizzle of olive oil.

Notes

I suggest the Flavor God lemon & garlic seasoning for this recipe, but you can also make your own seasoning blend at home.
Here are the ingredients listed on the Flavor God Lemon & Garlic seasoning:
-Garlic, Onion, Salt, Coriander, Paprika, Basil, Citric Acid, Black Pepper, Parsley, Lemon Peel, and Oregano
If I were making a homemade version, I would recommend using lemon pepper seasoning, a little garlic powder, and salt as desired.
Additionally, this dish will work with a variety of seasoning, so feel free to season your shrimp however you prefer!
